Open Call for Applications: Admin Officer

The Committee for Relevant Art (CORA), in partnership with Unchained Vibes Africa (UVA), invites applications from qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Admin Officer. The successful candidate will coordinate activities of the BookTrek Project and oversee the day-to-day administration of the CORA Secretariat, Library and Resource Centre.
About CORA
Founded in 1991, the Committee for Relevant Art (CORA) is a not-for-profit cultural advocacy organization committed to advancing artistic and cultural production in Nigeria. Over the past three decades, CORA has influenced cultural policy, shaped public discourse in the creative industries and curated some of Nigeria’s most prominent cultural events. Its flagship programme, the Lagos Book & Art Festival (LABAF), is widely regarded as West Africa’s biggest culture picnic and a premier platform for literature, art and critical engagement.
About the BookTrek Project
The CORA BookTrek is a community literacy outreach initiative designed to spread literacy through literature. It promotes Education, Enlightenment and Empowerment by bringing authors and readers together in underserved communities across Lagos and beyond.
The BookTrek features monthly literacy events, radio book reviews and culminates annually in the Lagos Book & Art Festival (LABAF). Since inception, the programme has reached thousands of young people, nurturing a culture of reading, storytelling and critical reflection.
Key Responsibilities
The Admin Officer will:- Coordinate planning, logistics and implementation of BookTrek monthly events and related activities.
- Administer the CORA Secretariat, including day-to-day office management, scheduling and correspondence.
- Manage the Library and Resource Centre, ensuring proper cataloguing, access and maintenance.
- Provide administrative support to the CORA Board, project teams and partners.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records and reports for ongoing projects.
- Support financial administration, including budgeting, petty cash management and expense reporting.
- Liaise with authors, partners, volunteers and community stakeholders.
- Contribute to communication and publicity efforts, including social media, newsletters, and press releases.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A degree in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Business Administration or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with digital communication tools.
- At least 2 years of relevant administrative or project management experience.
- Strong organizational, multitasking and communication skills.
- A passion for books, culture and literacy development.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage time effectively.
- Experience working with cultural organizations, NGOs or community projects is an added advantage.
- Must be based in Lagos.
