UVA Presents a Bold New Music Video by AGY – A Story of Resilience and the Struggle for Artistic Freedom.

Lagos, Nigeria – Unchained Vibes Africa (UVA) is set to premiere a compelling new music video by AGY Yakasai on April 3rd, 2025. This virtual premiere, streaming exclusively on UVA’s social media platforms, is more than just a release—it’s a statement. AGY, a musician who was imprisoned for alleged defamation after a satirical song about a governor of Kano State, uses this video to reclaim his voice. Arrested and denied proper legal representation, AGY was sentenced to two years jail term. With the intervention of the founders of UVA and organizations like the Committee for Relevant Art (CORA), the artist was released after spending one year behind bars. But that injustice remains a stark reminder of the risks artists face.
