The Role
We are seeking a highly qualified, competent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Lagos. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organization’s financial health, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and providing accurate financial data to support our creative and advocacy projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Bookkeeping: Maintain complete and accurate accounting records, including daily transactions ledgers.
• Reconciliations: Perform regular bank, vendors’ and internal account reconciliations.
• Compliance: Ensure full compliance and handle all statutory filings and audit preparations.
• Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of project budgets and monitor expenditures against approved allocations.
• Payroll: Oversee the monthly payroll process and ensure timely disbursement.
• Grant Management: Monitor and report on the utilization of funds in line with requirements of funded projects.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./HND) in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Certification: Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is a distinct advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an Accountant, preferably within the civil society or creative sector.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Location: Candidates MUST be based in Lagos, preferably on the Mainland.
• Availability: Only candidates available for immediate employment will be considered.
