Freedom Vibes from the Streets debuts in Kano
From 8th to 14th September 2024, the Unchained Vibes Africa (UVA) production crew began the shooting of Freedom Vibes from the Streets to promote artistic freedom in the creative city of Kano, Nigeria’s second largest city and the most vibrant creative hub in the north. The Freedom Vibes from the Streets is a series of content and vox pops to engage members of the public on the streets of major creative cities in Nigeria with a view to creating awareness, correcting misconceptions and educating citizens about artistic freedom and the use of art for civic engagements.

UVA to partner with Kannywood Women Association
On 10th September 2024, the UVA team met with leaders of the Kannywood Women Association of Nigeria (K-WAN). The K-WAN delegation led by its chairperson Hajiya Hauwa A. Bello, popularly known as Hauwa Editor, a veteran Hausa movie producer, editor, singer and actress, expressed the enthusiasm of the association to work with UVA on projects that would empower female filmmakers in northern Nigeria to realize their full potential in producing works that give voices to women and could catalize positive social change.
